Stacey Abrams announces bid for GA Governor

Stacey Abrams to run for GA Governor. This will be her second campaign.

Where: GA

The Facts

On December 1st, Democratic activist Stacey Abrams announced that she will be a candidate in the 2022 Georgia Governor elections.

Abrams’ 2022 campaign will mark her second bid for GA Governor after she lost to Brian Kemp in the 2018 GA gubernatorial elections.

Abrams tweeted, “I’m running for Governor because opportunity in our state shouldn’t be determined by zip code, background or access to power. #gapol”

If she wins the 2022 elections, Abrams will become the first black governor in Georgia and the first black woman to hold the position of governor in the US.

While referring to Abrams, current GA Governor Kemp stated, “Her far-left agenda of open borders, gun confiscation, high taxes, and anti-law enforcement policies don’t reflect who we are as Georgians.”
