The former US secretary of state, Colin Powell, 84, died of Covid complications – He was fully vaccinated.

Powell was the first African American secretary of state – He was appointed in 2001 under President George Bush.

Former President George Bush stated, “He was a great public servant, starting with his time as a soldier during Vietnam. Many Presidents relied on General Powell’s counsel and experience.”

Powell delivered a famous speech to the UN Security Council in February 2003.

Powell stated, “The facts on Iraqis’ behavior–Iraq’s behavior demonstrate that Saddam Hussein and his regime have made no effort–no effort–to disarm as required by the international community. Indeed, the facts and Iraq’s behavior show that Saddam Hussein and his regime are concealing their efforts to produce more weapons of mass destruction.”
