“Justice for J6” rally set for Saturday. Capitol Police request National Guard troops.

Where: Washington, DC

The Facts

The “Justice for J6” rally is scheduled for Saturday by organizers supporting the defendants charged in the Capitol riot of January 6th.

The rally is hosted by Matt Braynard, who worked for Trump’s campaign as director of data and strategy in 2016. His organization, Look Ahead America, is also planning rallies in 17 other cities.

The Capitol Police asked the Department of Defense to provide National Guard troops should they become necessary at the rally on September 18th.

Organizers of the rally are urging participants not to wear clothing or carry signs supporting former President Donald Trump or President Joe Biden.

The Department of Homeland Security has estimated around 700 people will attend the event. Law enforcement is gearing up for the rally by installing temporary fencing and an increased presence from the Metropolitan Police Department.
